01 - Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6–8 minutes. Drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
02 - Butter one side of each bread slice if desired. Toast in a skillet until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
03 - Lay out the toasted bread slices. Spread 1 tablespoon of ranch dressing evenly on each slice.
04 - Layer the bottom slices with romaine lettuce, turkey breast, roast beef, cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, tomato slices, red onion, and crispy bacon in that order.
05 - Top with the remaining bread slices, ranch side down. Press gently to compact layers. Slice each sandwich in half diagonally and serve immediately with pickles on the side if desired.
